Culture & Commons is led by Eduard Krakhmalnikov, an experienced public engagement specialist. Eduard has created placemaking strategies at Cary Downtown Park in Cary, NC, the Qianhai Kerry Centre in Shenzhen, China, and the Home Depot Backyard in Atlanta. On the National Mall, he relaunched the award-winning Volunteers-in-Parks program, which has engaged over one million visitors, and created a partnership with NETFLIX to tell a behind-the-scenes story of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. He has graduate degrees in Landscape Architecture and Historic Preservation from the University of Minnesota’s College of Design, and received the 2014 Damaris Horan Prize from the Royal Oak Foundation. Eduard lives in Washington, DC with his wife and two cats.
